Mgmt Config: Autonomous systems
James Shubin, Tuesday, February 7 , 11:00 - 11:40 , B.CON
Mgmt is a next gen config management tool that takes a fresh look at existing automation problems. Three of the main design features of the tool include: * Parallel execution * Event driven mechanism * Distributed architecture This presentation will briefly introduce the tool and spend most of the time presenting and demoing some of the newer features in the project. We'll present some of the new resources (virt, container, etc) new features (libified mgmt, send/recv, DSL) and how these can be used to build autonomous systems. Finally we'll talk about some of the future designs we're planning and make it easy for new users to get involved and help shape the project.
Next Generation Config Mgmt : Advanced Talk
James Shubin, Tuesday, February 7 , 14:00 - 15:20 , B4.042
A presentation about a next generation config management tool, and the specific problems this project solves. Three of the main design features of the tool include: * Parallel execution * Event driven mechanism * Distributed architecture This will be an interactive advanced talk / workshop version so that attendees can try the live demos at the same time as the presentation. We will then discuss some of the internals of the project, and finally we will have a short hacking session where you will learn to write your first mgmt resource. An introductory blog post on the subject is available. https://ttboj.wordpress.com/2016/01/18/next-generation-configuration-mgmt/ Attendees are encouraged to read it before the talk if they are interested!
